My name is Jonae Muhammad and every day,

My commitment was born across my 13+ years of teaching experience.
Over the years, as an English Teacher, I’ve worked with an incredible variety of students, from 2nd generation immigrants to those newly arrived as well as many who’ve been in the US most or all of their lives.
…Each with their hopes of more seamlessly integrating into the work world, university life, and social sphere.
I focus on offering an online course that centers around the student, measures growth and performance from the student’s actual speaking and writing, and is customizable to individual needs.

Online English Classes consist of:
- Two (2-hour) classes per week. The course is a balance of Google Documents coursework and language learning supports that will help students to comprehend the training course. Students will learn features like menu options and functions, how to work with multiple editors, editing options, sharing files with collaborators, inserting images, tables, and hyperlinks into your document, making comments and having conversations in the margins about the text. Special attention is placed on supporting the students listening comprehension with all video material available for the student to pause/replay at will, listen to multiple times, subtitles, and computer lesson transcripts that we study together (whole class). We’ll cover some of the grammar that’s necessary to understand the Google Docs training course. And practice inside of the Google Docs environment through additional class assignments that will further develop students speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- 10 student maximum per class. No more crowded classes, jostling for the teacher's attention. A top priority is students receive the attention and help they deserve, which is only possible in small class settings.
- Student/Teacher Conferences. Because the class values and focuses on student production (workshopping Google lessons, speaking and writing) we invest class time for this purpose. Teachers explain and discuss their feedback on student work/speaking/writing to ensure students understand Teacher’s comments and know how to respond to Teacher feedback. Students are required to respond to Teacher feedback in their journals in writing in order to become aware of and understand their mistakes, learn from those mistakes, and practice the skills that are missing to help them move past them.
- Plentiful Speaking Practice: Fluency heavily relies on plentiful opportunities to speak and express ideas on a large range of topics on a regular and ongoing basis. Student talk time is a central component of the class because we recognize the critical role it plays in speaking development. And in my experience, this is a primary goal for the majority of students. So it is equally a primary goal of our program.
- [Student Learning Tracker] A course that adapts to your learning needs. Based on the student/teacher conferences, teacher feedback on student work, workshopping, and student journals a learning profile is customized for each student, identifying areas where the student demonstrates proficiency, where they are struggling - and areas they need more work in to stabilize their learning.
- Course Materials Included [at No Additional Cost]. Course Materials are not a hidden cost in addition to the cost of the class. We won't send you out spending hundreds of dollars buying a new set of expensive books at the beginning of each new cycle. Course Elements
Communicative Topic: Google Docs Intro Training Course
Video Lectures (included in class): The class will watch and complete assignments and discussion around each Google Training Course lecture to ensure lesson comprehension. Each student has links to training videos/audios so each individual student has control to stop, rewind, rewatch, pause, look up new words, etc. Training Videos are equipped with subtitles and transcripts to support listening comprehension.
- Functional English: Google Training Course
- Vocabulary: Google Docs Terminology We'll study the terminology employed in the Training Course separately to support comprehension. Additionally, each student will build their own working list of vocabulary words they aren't familiar with from the training course to customize the learning for the individual needs of each student.
- Sentence Syntax: How to build grammatically accurate sentences and proofread yours and classmate’s writing.
- Grammar: The more prevalent Grammar Elements occurring in the Training Course: Signal Words, Adverb Clauses, Simple Future
- Speaking Drills: A framework to discuss the assignments we're workshopping in Google Documents
- Workshop: Practice using the Google Docs Features taught in the Training Course. Complete language learning assignments in Google Docs that require employing application features that have been covered in the course in order to get practice and gain proficiency. Work in an environment where you can make mistakes and have guided support to walk you through to success.

My name is Mutombo.
I’m a IT professional in the Democratic Republic of Congo. I began working with ESLSpeaknow in order to increase my speaking fluency since I could already hold conversations with native speakers, but I wanted to increase my fluency, improve my phrasing, and stretch my ability to discuss more advanced topics, and a larger range of topics.
I was able to work specifically in these areas in this program through being required to engage in full back and forth discussions on complex issues, speaking presentations that required research and required me to explain statistical data and engage in extended peer to peer discussions.

I am from Mozambique and work as a tax collector with the Mozambican government as well as a professor of tax law. When I began with ESLSpeakNow, I was an optimistic Beginner.
